A distant starboard side view of the Royal Navy battleships of 'B' Fleet at anchor in The Downs at the start of the annual fleet manoeuvres. The ships involved were the Revenge (1892), Nile (1888), Sans Pareil (1887), Trafalgar (1887), Anson (1886), Howe (1885), Benbow (1885), Camperdown (1885), Collingwood (1882), Colossus (1882), Edinburgh (1882) and Dreadnought (1875). On the extreme right and seen from fine off the starboard quarter is a Diadem class 1st class armoured cruiser which is either Amphitrite (1898) or Ariadne (1898). A note on the negative states that the photographer was using his Camera A.
