Boys in uniform mustering on the upper deck on board the boys training ship Arethusa (1849) at her permanent moorings in the River Thames off Greenhithe, Kent. They are getting ready for the prizegiving day. Awnings have already been rigged over the upper and poop decks and chairs have been laid out on the poop. Side screens have been rigged on the port side. The photographer is looking aft from the port side of the forecastle. The training ship Worcester (1860) is moored beyond the starboard quarter of the Arethusa. A note on the negative states that the photographer was using Camera B.
