Unnamed Francis patent metallic life boats (1856)

Scale 1:24 and 1:16. Plan shows the sheer lines, longitudinal half breadth and body plan for a set of Francis Patent Metallic Life Boats (1856). The plan relates to a 28ft 7 inches metallic life boat, a 28ft cutter, a 20ft gig cutter and a 14ft dinghy. The plan bears the signature of William M. Rice [Master Shipwright at Woolwich Dockyard 1853-1859] and W. Burroughs, the latter is located in the bottom left corner of the drawing. The title of the plan is "Sheer Drawings of Francis Patent Metallic Life Boats". The drawing has been mounted and there is water damage on the top portion of the plan.
