A close starboard bow view of the Royal Navy battleship Cornwallis (1901) sliding down the ways on launching at the Thames Iron Works shipyard at Blackwall, London. The photographer is on the viewing platform above the starboard sliding way as the hull moves down the ways. The drag chain ropes have not yet been put under any strain. The emulsion on the left and bottom edges of the negative has been damaged. A note on the vertical format negative says the photographer is using Camera B.
