The starboard side of the stern of the Royal Navy battleship Irresistible (1898) inside No. 7 covered slip at Chatham Dockyard prior to launching. The photographer is inside the covered slip looking to port and slightly aft showing timber baulks and rotating bedplates in the foreground with spectators beyond. A note on the original vertical format glass negative said the photographer is using Camera A. This negative has been broken and a copy negative has been produced from a photographic print.
