The photographer is standing in the hold looking down on the crewmen toward the pallet that is being lowered. The image is slightly blurred as some of the crew were moving as the photograph was taken. This is Slide 18 of a lecture given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Second Officer and later temporary Chief Officer on board the refrigerated cargo ship Maranga (1972) owned by Island Fruit Reefers Ltd and on charter to Salenrederierna from 28 September 1974 to 15 November 1974. The lecture consists of 23 slides.
