A distant starboard bow view of the battleship Irresistible (1898) afloat in Chatham Reach, River Medway, soon after her launch from No. 7 Covered Slip in Chatham Dockyard. Two anchors have been deployed to hold her in position pending the arrival of tugs. Dockyard men in rowing boats are collecting tallow in the foreground and 2-funnelled dockyard tugs are on the left and the right of the picture. A note on the negative says the photographer is using Camera A.
