Salvaged timber from the wreck of a wooden vessel at the top of the beach at Deal, Kent. The vessel was driven ashore south of Deal Pier broke up. The timber being salvaged has been brought to the top of the beach under the promenade. The photographer is looking north-by-east from the beach next to the promenade showing crowds of onlookers. Deal Pier is in the background. Negatives numbers N18773 to N18777 are of the same wreck. The bottom right corner of the neagtive is missing.
