A starboard quarter view, taken from fine off the stern, of the sailing and pulling lifeboat Charles Hargrave (1890) under sail in The Downs. She has two lug sails hoisted. The Charles Hargrave is a 40 feet, 12 oared, sailing and pulling lifeboat which was stationed at Kingsdowne, south of Walmer on the east coast of Kent, between 1890 and 1926. A vertical format negative. Note the name of the village is given as Kingsdowne but the current spelling omits the 'e' from the end.
