A slightly distant port near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the wreck of the five-masted ship Preussen under the cliffs of St. Margaret's Bay, Kent. She was severely damaged in collision with the cross-channel ferry Brighton just before midnight on 4 November and her foremast and bowsprit were broken. She was anchored but her anchor chains broke in a gale and she drove ashore on 6 November. Salvage has commenced and all of her sails have been removed and some of her cargo and fittings. The wreck was destroyed in a series of gales in the period 4 to 11 January 1911.
