A bow view, taken from very fine off the port bow, of the wreck of the steamship Ardoe (1880) beached off Sandown Castle, The Downs, Kent. The hull is broken amidships and the wreck has been stripped. The ship was blown ashore after a collision with the French Strasbourg on 31 January 1898 and became a total wreck. A note on the vertical format negative says the photographer was using Camera A. Negatives Numbers N18828 to N18842 are of this wreck.
