A close-up view of the starboard side amidships of the sunken wreck of the steamship Patria (1894) in The Downs, between Deal and Walmer, Kent. It is high tide and the hull is completely submerged. Her funnel and machinery spaces ventilators are standing but some of her boat davits have collapsed and the superstructure is completely burnt out. The Patria was wrecked on 17 November 1899 after being abandoned heavily on fire. A note on the negative says the photographer was using Camera B. Negatives Numbers N18848 to N18867 are of this wreck.
