A demolition charge exploding on the almost completely sunken wreck of the steamship Patria (1894) in The Downs, between Deal and Walmer, Kent. A conical wreck buoy is in the foreground and the wreck marking light vessel is in the background. Very little of the wreck is visible above the water. The Patria was wrecked on 17 November 1899 after being abandoned heavily on fire. A note on the negative says the photographer was using Camera B. Negatives Numbers N18848 to N18867 are of this wreck.
