Cadets of the Boys Naval Brigade Unit performing a capstan run outside a marquee in a garden at Halstead, Essex, during the Armistice Day celebrations. An imitation capstan has been set up on the lawn and each of the ten capstan bars is being pushed by two cadets. One of the cadets is standing on top of the capstan playing a shanty on a fiddle. The unit's commander is standing behind the capstan and the second-in-command is standing on the right, next to a boat on a carriage. On the left of the picture is a cadet standing by a two-wheeled cart.
