A military band leading a civic procession in an unknown town or city in England. The procession is along a wide cobbled road backed with single to four-storey commercial properties and tram tracks are built into the road. The road is densely lined with people wearing Edwardian style clothes and all are wearing some form of headwear. The majority of the men are wearing caps and a few straw boaters are in evidence. Behind the military band is a small squad of six soldiers carrying rifles with fixed bayonets escorting four standard bearers. Behind the soldiers are two columns of civic dignitaries, some wearing distinguishing robes, and they have a close escort of policemen on either side of them. The commercial premises include a branch of the London City and Midland Bank which was only established in 1898. Other names that are visible are Worth & Son, Dickinson & Co. and Kellett.
