A large collection of astronomical and navigation instruments displayed on five stepped shelves. This is the collection of Edgar Tarry Adams and included amongst the instruments are examples of standard sextants, compass circles, pocket bearing compasses, equinoctial ring dials, artificial Mercurial horizons, mariner's astrolabes, horary quadrant, pocket sextant, a telescope and reflecting circles. Some of these items were bequeathed to the National Maritime Museum in 1974 and some were purchased by the museum in the 1950s.
