The Al-Salam Palace in Kuwait City, Kuwait. The photographer is standing under a circular concrete roof supported by pillars looking through a yellow and black metal railed fence. Steps leading up to the palace with a procession of lamps either side of the steps are in the middle ground. The circular building of the palace is in the background. A note by the photographer on tjhe slide mount says the building cost £1,000,000. This is Slide 29 of a lecture given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Senior Second Officer and Navigator on board the tanker Malwa (1961), owned by the P&O Group, from 14 November 1963 to 9 March 1964. The lecture consists of 75 slides.
