The facade of the Al-Salam Palace in Kuwait City, Kuwait. The yellow and black gates are open in the foreground. There are two sets of steps, one on the left and one on the right, leading up to the ground floor of the palace. The facade is mainly of perforated concrete triangular panels covering both floors. This is Slide 30 of a lecture given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Senior Second Officer and Navigator on board the tanker Malwa (1961) owned by the P&O Group from 14 November 1963 to 9 March 1964. The lecture consists of 75 slides.
