A general view of the north end of Broadstairs, Kent, showing Fort House (a.k.a. Bleak House) in Fort Road on the cliff top. This is the house where Charles Dickens reputedly wrote his novel David Copperfield. The house was rebuilt and much extended in 1901. The photographer is looking north-north-west from a boat off the breakwater. A note on the negative says the photographer is using Camera A.
