A general view of the outer harbour at Folkestone, Kent.
A general view of the outer harbour at Folkestone, Kent. The photographer is on the western arm by the harbour station looking north-north-west across the outer harbour. It is low tide and a twin screw steamer is dried out. This is possibly the Folkestone (1878) which was taken out of service in 1903 and broken up. In the right foreground is the stern of the twin screw passenger/cargo ferry Canterbury (1901). A Martello Tower is on the hill above Copt Point in the background.
