A view across Brayford Pool on the River Witham at Lincoln. The photographer is looking north-east across the water showing two small, single masted, clinker-built boats at moorings and a cargo barge and a passenger carrying boat are alongside the opposite shore. Commercial premises are on the north side of the pool, including the premises of H. Ward, Peel Bros. and H.S. & W. Close, Builders and Contractors. The steeple of Newland Congregational Church and the three towers of Lincoln Cathedral are on the centre skyline.
