Mr. Chidwick fishing with hand lines from a rowing boat off the beach at Walmer, Kent. The photographer is in another boat looking towards the shore. Beyond the bow of Mr. Chidwick's boat is the Royal Marine Depot with its distinctive clock tower. Just to the right of the starboard quarter of the boat is The Adams family residence called "The Bungalow" on Marine Parade and it has a white-painted wooden hut on the beach in front of it. A note on the negative says the photographer is using Camera A.
