The B Fleet at anchor in The Downs during the annual Royal Navy fleet manoeuvres.
The B Fleet at anchor in The Downs during the annual Royal Navy fleet manoeuvres. The ships are on the horizon and are not individually identifiable. The photographer is looking to seaward from the tower window of the Adams family residence at The Bungalow on Marine Road, Walmer. Some Royal Marines are walking along the promenade, including a Marine officer with a lady and another officer with a woman who is pushing a pram. On the right is the Adams family's boathouse with their two-masted, lug-rigged yacht Sea Gull (1874) drawn up on the beach. A note of the negative says the photographer is using Camera B.
