An unidentified riverside grain store, probably in Kent or Essex. The photographer is looking across the river, which has a variety of rowing and sailing craft on it. The bow of a small steamship is on the extreme left of the picture. The grain store is a three storey brick-built building under a high pitched slate or tiled roof and it has a pair of four storey square towers in the front. Each tower has a pyramid roof with a square vented and capped top. Attached to the front of each tower is a rectangular brick extension under a triple pitch slate or tiled roof and the right hand extension has a projecting timber hoist shed at third floor level. A terrace of two storey dwellings is on the left.
