Men ploughing the shingle beach at Walmer, Kent. Seven men are hauling the wooden plough up the beach to level out the shingle while one man is guiding the plough. A two masted topsail schooner is at anchor well offshore and a paddle steamer, either the Edward William (1891) or the Myleta (1891), is under way on the daily round trip excursion between Ramsgate and Folkestone, calling at Dover and Deal.
