A group of at least ten men working on the capstan next to Edgar Tarry Adams' boathouse on the beach at Walmer, Kent. They appear to be lifting the body of the cast iron capstan to enable maintenace to be carried out to the centre shaft. A note on the negative says the photographer is using Camera B.
