A bow view of the single masted lug-rigged dinghy Sandpiper (1899) alongside the wreck of the steamship Patria (1894) in The Downs, Kent. The Sandpiper is flying a burgee with a crescent and star on it. Francis Norris Adams is on the deck of the Patria. The photographer is also on board the Patria looking aft along the starboard side from amidships. A vertical format negative. A note on the negative says the photographer is using Camera B.
