A slightly distant port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the coasting spritsail barge Iona (1875) under sail in The Downs. Her bowsprit is topped and she is on the starboard tack, running before thw wind. An additional sail has been rigged to starboard of the mast. The forward part of her hull is hidden by the sea swell. The photographer is on board an excursion steamer. A note on the negative says he is using Camera B.
