Gaff cutter rigged yachts racing in The Downs. The boats in the foreground are seen from off the starboard beam and are on the port tack, having rounded the mark boat. The yacht in the centre has the number 1 on her mainsail. The cutter in the right background is sailing in the opposite direction, having not yet reached the mark boat. Negative number N19266 was taken on the same occasion.
