Crew members greasing the wire falls of the port lifeboat davits on board the tanker Malwa (1961) in Suez Bay. The photographer is standing on the port side of the boat deck looking forward, to starboard and slightly up showing aman wearing blue overalls taking a handfull of grease from a tin on the aft davit. A second man, wearing white overalls, is greasing the pulley in the head of the davit. Two other men, one in blue overalls and another in a blue shirt and jeans, are working at the head of the forward davit. This is Slide 55 of a lecture given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Senior Second Officer and Navigator on board the tanker Malwa (1961), owned by the P&O Group, from 14 November 1963 to 9 March 1964. The lecture consists of 75 slides.
