On board the two masted, lug rigged yacht Sea Gull (1874) while under sail in The Downs. Edgar Tarry Adams is at the helm with his back to the camera. The two daughters Pauline and Isabel Mary are on the cabin roof and one of the crew is acting as lookout in the bow. The boat is on the starboard tack. A note of the negative says the photographer is using Camera B and it is evening.
