The Adams family children on board the two masted, lug rigged yacht Sea Gull (1874) while under sail in The Downs. Francis Norris is in the bow looking aft at Gordon, Pauline and Isabel Mary, who are lying on the cabin roof. The yacht is on the starboard tack. The photographer is looking forward from the cockpit and a note on the negative says he is using Camera B and the children are singing.
