The radio or electrical officer Ralph Collins doing his office work on the poop deck on board the tanker Malwa (1961) while under way at sea. Known by the nickname 'Sparky', Collins, dressed in white shorts, is sitting on the wooden rail next to the swimming pool, leaning over a typewriter which is precariously balanced on the rail. The photographer is standing on the port side of the boat deck looking aft. This is Slide 67 of a lecture given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Senior Second Officer and Navigator on board the tanker Malwa (1961), owned by the P&O Group, from 14 November 1963 to 9 March 1964. The lecture consists of 75 slides.
