A slightly distant port quarter view, taken from wide off the stern, of the two masted, lug rigged yacht Sea Gull (1874) at anchor off the beach at the South Foreland, Kent. Her mainsail is loosely furled and her mizzen sail is set for drying. The four Adams family children are on board. Francis Norris is standing holding the foremast stay, Gordon is standing on the cabin roof holding the mainsail sheet and the two girls, Pauline and Isabel Mary are sitting on the cabin roof. The South Foreland cliffs are in the background.
