A bow view, taken from very fine off the starboard bow, of the lug rigged dinghy Isabel Adams (Fl. 1890) under sail in The Downs, off Walmer, Kent.
A bow view, taken from very fine off the starboard bow, of the lug rigged dinghy Isabel Adams (Fl. 1890) under sail in The Downs, off Walmer, Kent. She is on the starboard tack in very calm conditions and Francis Norris Adams is at the helm. The Adams family referred to this boat as "the lifeboat". A single funnel steamer is in the background. She has a three masted schooner rig, a turtle back poop and a clipper bow. A note on the vertical format negative says the photographer is using Camera B.
