The three boys on board are Gordon Adams, Frank Norris and Percy Norris, and two of them are using the oars to try to push the boat back into deep water. An unidentified man is in the water with his trouser legs rolled up and he is pushing against the port bow of the boat. A note on the vertical format negative says the photographer is using Camera B.
