A slightly distant starboard bow view, taken from fine off the bow, of the lug rigged yacht Sandpiper (1899) being christened on the beach at Walmer, Kent. Helen Adams, wife of the owner, has just broken a bottle against the stem. The two daughters Isabel Mary and Pauline are watching while an unidentified man, possibly connected to the boat builder, is pushing against the port bow to launch the boat. A note on the vertical format negative says the photographer is using Camera A.
