A slightly distant port bow view of the lug rigged yacht Sandpiper (1899) under sail in The Downs. She is on the starboard tack and has a small staysail set and the lugsail boomed out to port. She is flying the burgee of the Cambridge University Cruising Club. The two funnelled, barque rigged, boys training ship Northampton (1876) is on the skyline. The horizon is not quite level. A vertical format negative with very slight image movement.
