She is on the starboard tack and is rushing through the surf with Edgar Tarry Adams at the helm and a crewman holding onto the mast. A steamship is in The Downs on the skyline. A note on the vertical format negative says the photographer is using Camera A. The negative is stained and the emulsion is damaged.
