A slightly distant starboard bow view of the lug rigged dinghy Spitfire (1898) being launched stern first from the beach at Walmer, Kent. The stern has created a large splash on hitting the water. Edgar Tarry Adams is in the stern holding the oars and a crewman is climbing into the boat over the starboard bow. Another man is standing on the shingle beach watching the successful launch. A note on the negative says this is the launch of E.T.A's new boat and the photographer is using Camera A.
