On board the tanker Malwa (1961) while berthing alongside an oil jetty at Lavera, France
On board the tanker Malwa (1961) while berthing alongside an oil jetty at Lavera, France. The photographer is standing on the port side of the forward end of the boat deck looking forward and to port showing an unidentified tug connected to the Malwa's port bow and pulling the bow in towards the jetty. The tanker's forward mooring line is slack in the water between the ship and the mooring pier. Port de Bouc across the river is in the background. This is Slide 73 of a lecture given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Senior Second Officer and Navigator on board the tanker Malwa (1961), owned by the P&O Group, from 14 November 1963 to 9 March 1964. The lecture consists of 75 slides.
