A starboard broadside view of an unidentified three masted ship at anchor in The Downs.
A starboard broadside view of an unidentified three masted ship at anchor in The Downs. Her starboard anchor is deployed and she is lightly laden. She is rigged with double topsails, fore and main double topgallants, and royals. The name written on the negative looks like Wendt of Bremen but no ship of this name, or anything like it, can be traced in Lloyd's Register of Shipping. It is not part of a compound name and there is no shipowner named Wendt at the time.
