A port bow view of the ketch Charlotte (1863) under sail in The Downs. She has her mainsail, main topsail and mizzen sail set and is on the starboard tack. She is heading north and the cliffs of the South Foreland are in the right background. A note on the vertical format negative says the photographer is using Camera A. Negative number N19577 was taken on the same occasion.
