A slightly distant starboard quarter view of the split hopper barge Magellano 1800 (1979) under way at Singapore. The photographer is on board the suction dredger Marco Polo (1979) and is possibly standing on the starboard side looking forward and to starboard. The forward lifeboat davit is in the foreground on the right hand side of the image. The Blue Star Line general cargo container ship Australia Star (1978) or New Zealand Star (1978) is at anchor in the middle ground off the starboard side of Verrazano 1800. Numerous unidentified ships are on the horizon. This is Slide 3 of a lecture given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Navigator on board the suction dredger Marco Polo (1979) owned by Jan De Nul from 11 February 1981 to 3 March 1981. The lecture consists of 23 slides.
