Looking forward from inside the wheelhouse on board the suction dredger Marco Polo (1979) while under way at sea. Three 200ft steel tubes (also known as spuds) are lying transversely along the forward part of the vessel. The ship's wheel and various dials are in the foreground. This is Slide 5 of a lecture given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Navigator on board the suction dredger Marco Polo (1979) owned by Jan De Nul from 11 February 1981 to 3 March 1981. The lecture consists of 23 slides.
