Looking forward from the starboard side aft on board the suction dredger Marco Polo (1979) while under way at sea between Singapore and Abu Dhabi. The photographer is standing on the starboard side of the fixed gantry at the aft end of the vessel looking forward and to port. The cutter shaft and suction pipe are in the foreground with the moveable gantry crane above them. The wheel house is in the middle ground with two convex windows either side of the dredging console. This is Slide 13 of a lecture given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Navigator on board the suction dredger Marco Polo (1979) owned by Jan De Nul from 11 February 1981 to 3 March 1981. The lecture consists of 23 slides.
