A distant starboard quarter view, taken from very fine off the stern, of the three masted barque King Malcolom (1885) under tow in The Downs.
A distant starboard quarter view, taken from very fine off the stern, of the three masted barque King Malcolom (1885) under tow in The Downs. She is laden and has painted ports. She is under shortened sails with just her four topsails and the spanker set and her foresail reefed. The tug, which is also seen from fine off the starboard quarter, is the London registered steam tug Gauntlet (1891). The horizon is not quite level. A note on the negative says the photographer is using Camera A.
