A close-up view of the stern of the Union-Castle Line passenger/cargo liner Cawdor Castle (1902) in the Thames Iron Works, Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. dry dock at Blackwall, London. The photographer is on the top of the dock just abaft the starboard side of the stern looking forward and to port. Lifting purchases have been fitted to each side of the hull above the propellers. A note on the vertical format negative says the photographer is using Camera C with an exposure of about 1/15th of a second.
