A close view of the port side of the superstructure of the split hopper barge Verrazzano 1800 (1979), taken from on board the suction dredger Marco Polo (1979) while under way at sea. The photographer is standing on the starboard side of the dredger looking to starboard at the hopper which is under way close alongside during a transfer operation. Three crewmen are standing on the upper deck of the Verrazzano 1800, abreast the bridge, using two ropes to haul a large arrow shaped metal object out of the water. A note on the transparency mount reads "Repairs to mast of Verrazzano". The Jan De Nul Ship company symbol, consisting of the letters 'D', 'J' and 'N' encompassed in a red circle, is painted on the superstructure.
