The photographer is standing on the port side of the dredger looking to port showing her guardrails in the foreground. The vessel is entering a gap in the Musandam Peninsula, referred to in the photographer's notes as Fakk Al Asad, or the Gut. This is Slide 21 of a lecture given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Navigator on board the suction dredger Marco Polo (1979) owned by Jan De Nul from 11 February 1981 to 3 March 1981. The lecture consists of 23 slides.
